Gov. Bojie Dy III meets Guangxi Gov. Chen Wu and Chinese businessmen

The governor of the Province of Isabela, Hon. Faustino G. Dy III and some major players in the province had a meeting with Guangxi officials and businessmen, led by Guangxi Governor Chen Wu, during the Chinese-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) Promotion Conference held at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel in Makati on July 16, 2013.

The Province of Isabela will be featured as City of Charm in this year’s 10th CAEXPO.

Gov. Chen Wu and his delegation which included the Secretary General of CAEXPO met with both government  and private sector officials in Manila to give an update on the CAEXPO preparations and exchanged views on how the Philippines can maximize the benefits from its CAEXPO participation.

The event, organized by the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) with the Guangxi Foreign Affairs Office, proved fruitful for the Isabela delegation with the two governors agreeing on exploring the possibility of a twinning agreement between their respective provinces as both have similarities in their agriculture and industrial features. The Guangxi governor also accepted Governor Dy’s invitation to visit their Bambanti Festival next year.

Prior to this meeting, Gov. Dy and his Department Heads met with CITEM officials led by Ms. Doris Gacho, CAEXPO Project Manager, for briefing on the former’s participation as City of Charm. The Governor welcomed their participation in the CAEXPO with fervor as this is a very rare opportunity for Isabela to showcase its bounties and investment opportunities.

A City of Charm Pavilion will be set up installed with LED screens where aerial shots of the province, its tourism sites, products, festivals and infrastructure will be shown. Business meetings, cultural presentations and craft demonstration will also be staged in the pavilion.

Gov. Dy will likewise deliver a 15-minute presentation of Isabela province’s investment programs at the Philippine Investment Seminar.
