BRO for EDUCATION

 

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

BRO for Education is the local government unit’s Provincial Scholarship Program.With BRO-Ed, every farmer-family is guaranteed a college scholarship slot as a special assistance to small farmers who dream of having at least one college graduate in the family. This aims at reducing the financial burdens of farmers in the education of their children, motivating them towards greater productivity.

The program has two components, the Academic Scholarship Program for children of farmers who graduated from high school with honors (Valedictorian to 12th Honorable Mention) and the Non-Academic Scholarship Program or the regular scholarship for farmers’ children who are interested to pursue college education even without high school honors. Regular scholars’ benefit is FREE TUITION FEE (not exceeding 3,000.00) in Isabela State University and Philippine Normal University while Academic Scholars enjoy CASH ALLOWANCE (ranging 3,000 to 5,000) every semester.

 

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

The Provincial Scholarship Program aims to:

  1. Provide college scholarship opportunities to the sons and daughters of small farmers and indigents in the province.
  2. Help families especially small farming and indigent families lessen their financial burden in sending their children to college education.
  3. Promote and support the precept “education for all” by providing Isabeleño youth equal educational opportunities.

 

POLICIES AND GUIDELINES

  1. The BRO for Education is the Provincial Scholarship Program of the Provincial Government of Isabela pursuant to Ordinance No. 09, s. 2015 also known as “An Ordinance Further Amending Ordinance No. 04, series of 2008, entitled, An Ordinance Establishing a Revised Provincial Scholarship Program”
  2. BRO for Education guarantees a scholarship college slot as a special assistance to small farmers who dream of having at least one college graduate in the family. This aims at reducing the financial burdens of small farmers in the education of their children, motivating them towards greater productivity.
  3. The “One Scholar per Farming Family” shall be adopted as a policy of the BRO-Ed.
  4. The son or daughter-scholar of the small farmer is entitled to receive 100% FREE TUITION FEE (maximum of Php 3,000.00) scholarship every semester to any campus of Isabela State University and/or other partner colleges and universities in the province.FREE MISCELLANEOUS FEE (maximum of Php 3,000) scholarship shall apply if the scholar is enrolled in an agriculture-related course. This shall be immediately deducted upon submission of the scholar to the PGI’s partner universities and colleges.
  5. For scholars who graduated with Honors (Top 12) during High School, semestral allowance (from P3,000.00 to P5,000) shall be granted.
